We appreciate that it is still early in Term 1 and teachers may not have had the opportunity to get to know their students well. Because of that, it may be for many students that ensuring their teacher maintains a connection during this period is more important than going hard on learning.
So because of this, we have decided on the following process with our Distance Learning:
* Send out a “Start Right Homework Book”
* Children to access online learning activities via your child’s classroom PowerPoint
* Children to access Sunshine Classics (Reading), Mathletics/Seeds (Maths).
* Children to access Seesaw (from Tuesday 2nd March)
* Children to engage in Zoom sessions (zooming will require a device)
Start Right – Homework Books
Parents, caregivers, whanau will be able to pick up from school a Start Right – Homework Book which will have a range of work from reading, writing, maths, and other curriculum areas that your children can work through over the next 5 days.
To access these we have been asked by the MOE to make this process a contactless system. This means you will be able to pick up a Homework Book for your child from the following areas:
Junior School – Rooms 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 (from the office main door)
Middle School – Rooms 3, 14,15,16 & 17 (gate by car park next to Rm 5)
Senior School – Rooms 11, 12, 13, 20 & 21 (gate by car park next to Rm 6)
These Homework Books can be picked up between 9:00am and 12:00pm from Monday to Wednesday. NOTE: We will not be rolling out devices at the moment but will do if we remained and Alert Level 3.
School Hours
The school hours will be normal school hours 8:45am to 2:45pm. However, we do encourage children to stay home during Alert Level 3. If you require care for your child please let the school know.
Stay safe! Take care!
